El tratamiento tradicional de la transacción canónica según Williamson y su vigencia en la literatura reciente sobre plataformas digitales

Resumen

En este trabajo se plantea el interrogante acerca de la vigencia, en la literatura sobre plataformas digitales, del tratamiento tradicional de la transacción canónica de la Economía de los Costos de Transacción, entendiendo por tal al que le dieron Williamson y algunos de sus contemporáneos hace casi medio siglo y que, con variantes, se ha replicado muchas veces desde entonces. Se exponen y comentan los resultados de una revisión bibliográfica llevada a cabo para averiguar si dicho tratamiento se encuentra en la literatura reciente sobre las plataformas digitales, especialmente aquellas que median entre empresas y se sugieren algunas razones que constituyen limitaciones para aplicar el tratamiento tradicional de la transacción canónica a las transacciones mediadas por plataformas digitales. Previamente se exponen algunos rasgos, relevantes para este problema, de la Economía de los Costos de Transacción y de las plataformas digitales y sus ecosistemas, destacando aspectos de su funcionamiento y del modo en que son interpretados en la literatura, relacionados con la vigencia del análisis tradicional de la transacción canónica. Como epílogo, se considera que el interrogante planteado no tiene una respuesta afirmativa
